I.P.M. insect control is moving towards pesticide free methods. Use of insect monitoring is essential to detect insect invasion as it happens, pinpoint the area of infestation and show the effectiveness of control measures. Recording the insect activity on a frequent and regular basis will provide the records needed to create an overall management plan.

The biosys Detector® and Lo-Line® monitors can detect the presence of cockroaches before insecticide treatment, keep low population levels in check between treatments, or, with increased trap density, act as a control measure. The biosys monitors are ideal for use in homes, health care facilities, hotels, restaurants, food storage and food processing facilities.

The Detectors® and Lo-Line® monitors work on a "lure and trap" principle. Insects are attracted to the GP2 tablet which contains an aggregation pheromone mimic and a food attractant that attracts all cockroach species: German, American, Brown Banded, Asian and Oriental. The monitors have been designed to resemble a safe harborage and once inside they are held fast on the sticky floor. The GP2 tablet is effective for six weeks. It is stable and dies not deteriorate or ferment under normal conditions.
